🧠 Meet the Scholarship Recipients

🥇 Zeke Hernandez

Major: Health Education & Physical Administration Hometown: Carterville, Illinois

Zeke is a seasoned boxer with over three years of experience in the sport. A former high school wrestler, he transitioned into boxing and kickboxing with a passion for discipline and mentorship. His journey began right here in Carterville, where he first connected with Pharaoh Boxing Club as a volunteer coach. That year of service laid the foundation for his commitment to youth mentorship and community wellness. Zeke’s technical skill, combined with his deep roots in the local community, make him a standout leader in this scholarship cycle.

🥇 Jacob AdamWayne Crawford

Major: Health Education & Physical Administration Hometown: Carterville, Illinois

Jacob has been boxing for a year and a half, with seven fights under his belt. His coaching style is grounded in fundamentals — footwork, timing, and conditioning — and he leads by example, never asking students to do something he wouldn’t do himself. As a personal trainer and junior at Southern Illinois University, Jacob brings both academic insight and real-world experience to the ring. He sees Pharaoh Boxing not just as a gym, but as a family bonded by triumphs and tribulations, both inside and outside the ring.

Expect honest effort, real growth, and a coach who’s all in.

💬 A Word from Pharaoh Boxing Club
